Labour & Birth
I support my clients by providing three prenatal visits, and one postpartum visit. These visits are an important time for us to bond and learn what your needs are and for me to impart my knowledge and expertise on comfort measures during Labour, helpful Birth positions and what to expect during your postpartum healing.
Together we will create your birth plan or preferences. This is an empowering aspect when you make educated and informed decision of what you want, and don't want. By request, I will take photos throughout your labour and birth.
Postpartum Healing
Once you are home, I will contact you to book a home visit at your convenience. This visit can cover birth debriefing, check latching and feeding issues, I can care for baby while mom & dad take a break, give baby a bath or perform light house chores; dishes, sweep, laundry.
Hourly & Overnight Support
For an extra fee, I am also available to support you on an hourly basis during your postpartum period, lasting up to five months. I also offer overnight support, minimum 8 hours. With overnight support, I cover lactation aids, bottle prep, feeding and bottle sterilization or bring baby to you for breast feeding or I will feed baby with expressed milk. I will change diapers, dress/swaddle, bath and sooth fussiness, and light house keeping; laundry, dishes, and clean-up.
I hold Infant First Aid and CPR, and have 100 volunteer hours with BC Ambulance service and I'm registered with the Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program.
